Day 6

Start: Duluth, Minnesota
Finish: Ashland, Wisconsin
Miles Biked: 74

Northern Wisconsin along the cold, vast water of Lake Superior averages summer highs in the low 70s. Yet the boys of Pittsburgh Youth Leadership confronted record extreme heat and humidiity well into the 90s both from mid-morning to late afternoon. We took 3 siestas in a car dealership, side road with trees and a small town restaurant to escape the sun. Josh and Kevin were staggered and all the bikers faced the challenge of the weather.

The goal of Ashland along Lake Superior was reached just as teh bright orange globe hit the bay. The boys gathered in front of the motel and watched a special sunset with shades (sunglasses) on.

I think the sunshine is definitely following you. You're all soooo special!! I'm glad you were rewarded with a apecial sunset. Isn't Lake Superior awesome? I'm sure a dip in LS will cool you right down! Hope you got a chance to try. Keep pedalin'! 2 states down!! Now if only I could figure out what flats and splats are I'm sure I would have some comment. But alas.... Bye!

Sounds like you guys are doing great. It's fascinating to read of where you are and the amount of miles covered. For the most part, Wolf can't remember where he is sleeping. I figure a splat is "off the bike suddenly :(" Hope all continues as well as it has so far.

Good luck!

I am proud of you all! I love this site and the photo's. It makes me much more comfortable being able to see where my son, the roadkill photographer, is and almost participate with all of you. Thank you and good luck!

Flats are flat tires and splats I am assuming are falls :-)
